Stunned by Grace

I used to think that God back in the OT was an angry God. It was hard for me to read it and I usually just left it alone. When I came back and read the first 5 books, something was different. Maybe it was my attitude towards is but as I continued to read I just remember thinking how great God's grace, mercy and patience were. I did a study in Chronicles and it was so sad how the Israelites were so unfaithful to God and how God came to them over and over again only to be spit on by Israel. Yet God loves them and me even for all my shortcomings. I'm thankful that his mercies are renewed every morning for me. I need it!
